Here's my story! I am a mother of four. Being a Mom, I made it my duty to cut costs and save money wherever possible. I had cut down on many of our bills. One of our larger expenses was groceries and was very hard to chip away at. In the beginning I was saving 25-30% but I knew there had to be bigger savings.

 

I knew how to do basic couponing but was in unfamiliar territory when it came to extreme couponing. I began with studying the show, "Extreme Couponing" and would absorb all their techniques. Each grocery store had different coupon policies so I would have the policies on hand in my binder in case I needed to reference it or to show the cashier. In the beginning I felt uneasy with using coupons and constantly felt like I was doing something wrong. After a few months it all came naturally even down to learning each stores policy. I would also become friendly with many of the cashiers at my favorite stores. I believe you should be nice to everyone anyhow but it is especially helpful when using coupons. You want it to be as smooth sailing as possible. Other outlets I learned from was fellow couponers, blogs and youtube.com coupon how-to videos. These all became great reference tools.

 

Do not expect yourself to know all the information right at the start.  Do expect yourself to succeed. You will be couponing like a pro in no time at all.
